32. PORT CHALMERS DAY: IPENZ Engineering Heritage Bus Tour

Explore Otago Harbour with IPENZ Engineering Heritage experts: the harbour channel from Aramoana to Dunedin, structures, vessels, Otago Harbour Board and Port Otago developments 1874 to 2016. Bring or buy lunch in Port Chalmers.
Otago Heritage Bus departs from the Station at 9am, near JA1274 locomotive.

An easy drive along the Dunedin to Port Chalmers Road and on to Aramoana and the Mole.

An opportunity to visit Port Otago’s cruise facility and Beach Street Wharf. See port activity close-up, listen to talks about the challenges of piloting large ships into port and go on board one of the tugs.
